Ubiquity

Dolga zgodba se že drži tega imena, medtem ko se na spletu zadnje čase pojavljajo razni izseki iz FireFox razvojne skupine, ki na splet obeša razne ideje o tem, kako izboljšati uporabniško izkušnjo pri uporabi brskalnika in uporabniku ponuditi točno določeno informacije, takrat ko ji nekdo zahteva. Tako kroži po spletu video Understanding context in your New Tab, ki ponuja razmišljanje o temu, kako naj se odpre nov zavihek brskalnik, ob enem pa je lansiran projekt, ki so ga avtorji poimenovali kot poizkus povezovanja besedila s spletom – An experiment in connecting the web with language. Gre za projekt Ubiquity, ki zadovolji nekaj tistih idej v prej omenjenem videu, kjer je govora o vsebini novih zavihkov, ki so po statistiki, največkrat odprti ravno zaradi dodatnega iskanja. No Ubiquity lahko odpira nove zavihke glede na označeno besedilo na stani, v polja z obogatenim besedilom, lahko vstavlja slike, zemljevide, itd. • translateTranslates from one language to another.
• You can specify the language to translate to, and the language to translate from. For example, try issuing “translate mother from english to chinese”. If you leave out the the languages, Ubiquity will try to guess what you want. It works on selected text in any web page, but there’s a limit to how much it can translate at once (a couple of paragraphs.)twitterSets your Twitter status to a message of at most 160 characters.
• You’ll need a Twitter account, obviously. If you’re not already logged in you’ll be asked to log in.undeleteRestores the HTML deleted by the delete command.
